Water, or the lack thereof, should be at the forefront of every District 11 representative’s mind. Whether in the densely populated Livermore-Dublin area, or in the intensive agriculture of the Central Valley, residents and business need to have secure and cheap forms of water if economic activity is going to grow and thrive. Jeff Takada will work with stakeholders and propose legislation that conserves and keeps water in District 11. His five-tiered approach includes water recycling, water conservation, conjunctive use, a commitment to increased storage, and fighting for local control of local resources. Our water problems are numerous – water table depletion, salinity, water grabs, flooding, ecological degradation, and the looming prospect of a so-called `Peripheral Canal.` Jeff Takada is dedicated to tirelessly protecting the people and water of District 11 from jealous, greedy, or downright duplicitous southern, state, or federal characters.
