Taxes are one of the most important issues facing Americans today. We citizens are being asked to foot the bill for an unprecedented and un-Constitutional expansion of the federal government and we are being asked to do so in what may be the worse economic times of this new century. We simply cannot afford the profligate spending our current crop of Congressmen and women propose, don’t read, and then vote on. The tax burden on the American colonists prior to the Revolution was a fraction of what we now pay. What was intolerable then is intolerable now. Jeff Takada is convinced that the only way Congress will spend less is if it is given less to spend. That is why he will propose and support legislation that curtails spending and decreases taxes. The federal government, and its attendant bureaucracy, must be cut down to a manageable size. Our national debts must be paid off, our budget must be balanced and we must return to the free market principles that made this nation great, not the Big Government wastage that has laid us low. Jeff Takada realizes this as his top priority: get the federal government out of your wallet. The government has become a `Portrait of Dorian Grey` lurching out of the four corners that our Framers established for it and I vow to work with all my strength to restore our Republic to fiscal and Constitutional sanity.
