Would you respect a man who posts a no trespassing sign and then lets squatters take over his home? Would you respect a woman who let a hostile guest walk out with her brand-new TV and did not protest? Illegal immigrants settle in our country without being invited; China and others steal our intellectual property; Japan and the European Union sell us one-sided trading deals weighted down with protectionist measures and Value Added Taxes and we are unable to respond with resolve. Congress’s reactions to these challenges make our nation, our values of freedom and democracy, our institutions and our history look impotent. America needs to stand up and in an honorable and humble way, reassert her sovereignty before the nations of the world and arrogant international organizations like the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and the World Bank.
