As the husband of a legal immigrant, Jeff Takada is keenly aware of the sacrifices, pains, and joys involved in becoming a lawful permanent resident of the United States of America. As a nation composed of people who came from all over the world, from all walks of life, America is a land that by its charter, character, and definition has been more welcoming to immigrants than any other on the face of the Earth. This is why it is so important to ensure that it remains a nation of jurisprudence, economic opportunity, and freedom. Illegal immigration erodes this by making a mockery of our due procedures, and traps the uninvited newcomer in a position where they can be abused financially and harmed physically. Jeff Takada rejects “amnesty” and a “pathway to citizenship” for any except legal, invited guests and supports strong border enforcement by the US Border Patrol, Coast Guard, ICE, and the IRS. He supports legislation that would remove the incentives for uninvited immigrants to come here and would work diligently to arrive at punitive diplomatic solutions with nations who profit from intentionally sending their excess population to our borders.
